At a glance
The best Kling AI alternative depends on the job. Runway gives the most editing control from $15 a month. Google AI Pro brings Veo 3.1 and 1,000 Flow credits for $19.99. Pika and Hailuo start under $15. Kie.ai lets you pay per second with no plan. Prices checked on 5 November 2026.
Prices and features come from each vendor's official pricing and help pages, read on the date given in the article, from Europe and the US when prices differ. A Kling AI alternative makes sense when Kling's credits run out too fast, when the price after the first month surprises you, or when you need something Kling does not do. Below, seven options are compared on price, credits and free use, with prices read on each vendor's page on 5 November 2026.

Kling AI in brief: plans, credits and version
Kling AI is the video generator of the Chinese company Kuaishou. Its paid plans start at $6.99 for the first month, then $8.80 a month for 660 credits, according to Kling's credit guide dated 28 July 2026.
| Plan | First month | Then, per month | Credits per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 | $0 | No monthly credits |
| Standard | $6.99 | $8.80 | 660 |
| Pro | $25.99 | $32.56 | 3,000 |
| Premier | $64.99 | $80.96 | 8,000 |
| Ultra | $127.99 | $159.99 | 26,000 |
Monthly credits last one month; credits bought separately last two years. Since October, reviews and search snippets of the plans page also show a second top range, up to Ultra+ at $544.99 for 57,000 credits, so check the live page before you pay. The free Basic plan has no monthly credits in Kling's guide, while reviews report daily login credits, often 66.
Kling 4.0: what is confirmed and what is not
Kling 4.0 is the current model, but sources disagree on its details. Kling's press release of 16 October 2026 says it is "fully available now", with native 30-second clips, 15 references, 10 keyframes and French among its languages. The same release says 10-bit HDR in 4K and 1080p is coming "soon", while some guides describe 4K at launch. Other sites date the launch to 15 October, citing Kling's post on X, or to 19 October. One early review said Standard, Pro and Premier lacked Kling 4.0; a later one says every account can use it with credits.
Why look for a Kling AI alternative?
Price and credits come first: the first-month discount ends, monthly credits do not carry over, and the free plan has no monthly credits, so testing ideas costs money early. Other needs sit outside Kling: editing models next to the generator (Runway), video inside a Google subscription (Gemini and Flow), or pay-as-you-go access to many models through one API (Kie.ai).
Kling AI alternatives compared
Six of the seven alternatives start between $9 and $30 a month, and Kie.ai has no subscription at all.
| Tool | Entry price, monthly billing | What the entry plan buys | Free option | In SpyBox |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kling AI (reference) | $6.99 first month, then $8.80 | 660 credits, about 33 videos in 720p | Basic plan, no monthly credits | Yes |
| Runway | $15 (Standard), $12 billed yearly | 625 credits, about 52 s of Gen-4.5 | 125 one-time credits | No |
| Google Veo (Gemini, Flow) | $19.99 (Google AI Pro, US) | 1,000 Flow credits, about 50 Veo 3.1 Fast clips | 50 Flow credits a day, per third-party guides | No |
| Hailuo (MiniMax) | $14.99 (Standard), $7.99 on current offer | 1,000 credits, about 40 clips of 6 s in 768p | Bonus credits during campaigns | No |
| Luma Dream Machine | $30 (Plus), $25 billed yearly | 10,000 credits, commercial use | No free plan listed | No |
| Pika | $10 (Starter), $8 billed yearly | 900 credits, commercial license | Free plan with 0 monthly credits | No |
| Higgsfield | $9 (Basic), per third-party reviews | 120 credits, several models | Not confirmed | No |
| Kie.ai (API reseller) | No plan, 1 credit = about $0.005 | Kling 4.0 at $0.085 per second | None listed | Yes |
Prices checked on 5 November 2026 on each vendor's page, in US dollars, before tax. Higgsfield's plans and the Flow clip costs come from third-party reviews. OpenAI's Sora is no longer an option: its app closed on 26 April 2026 and its API on 24 September 2026, per OpenAI's help center.
The alternatives one by one
Runway: more control, with Kling 4.0 inside
Runway Standard costs $15 a month for 625 credits. Gen-4.5, its main model, uses 12 credits per second, so that is about 52 seconds of video a month. Runway also hosts other models: Kling 4.0 in 1080p costs 118 credits per 5 seconds there, and Aleph 2.0 edits existing footage. Pick Runway if you want to generate and edit in one tool. At that rate, it is not the place for cheap volume.
Google Veo, through Gemini or Flow
Google sells no standalone Veo plan: you get it with a Google AI subscription, in the Gemini app or in Flow, Google's AI filmmaking tool. Flow credits per month are 200 on Google AI Plus ($4.99 a month), 1,000 on Pro ($19.99), 10,000 on Ultra 5x ($99.99) and 25,000 on Ultra 20x. Guides that cite Google's help put a Veo 3.1 clip of 4 to 8 seconds at 20 credits in Fast and 100 in Quality.
Veo makes most sense if you already pay Google for Gemini or storage. With clips of up to 8 seconds, it is not the tool for long single shots. Veo is not in SpyBox, though SpyBox's Credits page lists Gemini Omni videos, Google's other video model: about 110 with one month of credits.
Hailuo (MiniMax): the budget subscription
Hailuo Standard lists at $14.99 a month, with a limited-time price of $7.99, for 1,000 credits: about 40 clips of 6 seconds in 768p, or 12 in 1080p, per Hailuo. Pro lists at $54.99 ($24.99 on offer) for 4,500 credits and adds 10-second clips in 1080p. Sellers who test many short product shots get the most from it. Longer HD clips mean moving up to Pro.
Luma Dream Machine: lots of credits, no free plan
Luma Plus costs $30 a month for 10,000 credits, with commercial use, and Pro costs $90 for 40,000. The pricing page lists no free plan. Luma's Ray3.2 model offers HDR modes at a higher credit cost. Creators who want HDR footage are its natural users. If you want to try before paying, look elsewhere.
Pika: low entry price, no free credits
Pika Starter costs $10 a month for 900 credits, with a commercial license. The Free plan includes 0 monthly credits, so you buy packs, starting at 1,500 credits for $25. No plan adds a watermark. Short social clips on a small budget are its strength. Older lists still promise a free tier, so do not plan around one.
Higgsfield: several models in one account
Higgsfield runs several video and image models, Kling 3.0 among them, from one account. Third-party reviews put Basic at $9 a month for 120 credits and Pro at $29 for 600, with offers that change often. One subscription to compare several models is the draw; the shifting price is the catch if you need a stable one.
Kie.ai: an API reseller, included in SpyBox
Kie.ai does not make its own models. It resells access to models from other companies, such as Kling, Veo 3.1, Hailuo and Seedance, through one API key, with prepaid credits that never expire. Kling 4.0 costs $0.085 per second there, about $0.85 for a 10-second clip. Automations that call several models are where it fits best. Kie.ai is built around its API, so a simple creative app suits hand-made clips better. You will find it in the SpyBox catalogue: see Kie AI.

Free Kling AI alternatives that really work
Three options let you generate without paying on 5 November 2026:
- Google Flow gives every Google account 50 credits a day, per guides that cite Google's help: about 2 Veo 3.1 Fast clips. Non-subscribers can be blocked at peak times.
- Runway gives 125 one-time credits, about 10 seconds of Gen-4.5.
- Kling Basic is free, with daily login credits reported by reviews.
Pika and Luma are weaker than lists suggest: Pika's Free plan has no monthly credits, and Luma lists no free plan. Hailuo gives bonus credits during campaigns.
What a multi-tool video setup costs
Kling Pro ($32.56 after the first month), Google AI Pro ($19.99) for Veo and ElevenLabs Creator ($22) for the voice-over come to $74.55 a month on 5 November 2026.
SpyBox costs €29.99 a month and includes Kling, Kie.ai and ElevenLabs among its 35 tools. This compares each vendor's list prices. In SpyBox, every tool opens on its top plan. SpyBox's AI image, video and voice tools run on 100,000 credits a month, refreshed on the 1st. The Credits page puts that at about 52 Kling videos at average cost, or more than 300,000 characters of ElevenLabs voice. It is one budget for all these tools, so a heavy Kling month leaves less for voice. Veo and the five other alternatives are not included.
A product video ad, step by step
This method turns a product photo into a short ad with four tools. Most tools in this method are included in SpyBox; you can also buy each one separately.
- Write a 15-second script and a few hooks in ChatGPT.
- Turn the photo into a clip with Kling's image-to-video, or test the same shot on another model through Kie.ai.
- Record the voice-over in ElevenLabs (see our ElevenLabs pricing and review).
- Add captions and finish the short edit for TikTok or Reels in Submagic.
Assets you make through SpyBox can run in your ads.
When to keep Kling
Kling remains a strong pick for long single shots: Kling 4.0 makes clips of up to 30 seconds, and its 15 references help keep the same product across shots. Its lip sync covers French, and Standard at $6.99 is the cheapest paid first month in this list. You can also keep the model and pay elsewhere, since Runway, Kie.ai and Higgsfield run Kling and SpyBox includes it. Skip Kling if you need a full editor.
